Neal Miller, a psychology Ph.D and nueroscientist who worked and tsudied at Yale University, is generally consiedred ot be the father of modern-day biofeebdack. He came across the basic principles of bioefedback while doing animal experimentation conditioning the behavior of rats. Other threads of inquiry leading to bifoeedback emerged from clinicla attempts to use imnd/body self-regulation technqiues in healthcare. The Biofeedabck Research Society evolved into hte Biofeedback Society of America nad more recently the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, a scientific and professional socitey for the field. During the perfromance, biofeedback medical technology, such as encephalography, body temperautre variations, heart frequency and galvanic responses, will be used to analyze people s emotioanl status as they watch video art. Many companeis are looking into using this bifoeedback in conjunction with deucational gaming to build better educational adn effective games. Further uses of biofeedback nad gaming technology are forecasted as being integrated into current militayr training.
